Summerlin Schools

Summerlin has a mix of public, private, and charter schools spread throughout the community, including well-regarded options like Bishop Gorman High School, Faith Lutheran, and several Clark County School District campuses. Most villages are built around their own schools, so families can usually walk or bike rather than drive across town.

Summerlin Trails

Summerlin's trail system runs more than 200 miles and connects the villages to each other through tree-lined paths, pedestrian bridges, and underpasses that keep walkers and bikers away from traffic. The Summerlin trail system will eventually tie into Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area just west of the community.

Environment Information

Summerlin was designed with the desert in mind, using native and drought-tolerant plants throughout its parks, medians, and common areas to keep water use down. The community also sits right next to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, which protects nearly 200,000 acres of open Nevada desert.

Golfing in Summerlin

Summerlin is also a great spot for golfers, with ten community courses to pick from and roughly 365 days of sunshine to play them. The community is home to one of the first Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear's Best courses in the world, plus both of Nevada's Tournament Players Club courses. Public, semi-private, and private options are all close by, so you can play a different course every day of the week without leaving the area.

TPC Summerlin is best known as the host of the PGA Tour's Shriners Children's Open every fall, which puts the community on national TV and brings top players to town. For visitors and residents who want easier access, Eagle Crest, Palm Valley, and Highland Falls are all public-friendly options run by Angel Park Golf, while Siena and TPC Las Vegas offer a step up in challenge and scenery. Whether you're chasing a championship layout or just want a quick round after work, the courses are close enough together that tee times are rarely an issue.
